Cutting off Tools
Dieterle tools for chiples cutting work particularly well on soft plastics such as elastomers. The knife-like cutting geometries enable nearly burr-free separation of the workpieces from the stock with a fine blade.

Chipless Cutting with the KBS System

The following indexable insert types are available for chipless cutting with the KBS system:
KP-VG
Dieterle VG cutting inserts is the basic form for chipless processing. The polished cutting-off blade is super sharp. This allows it to glide quickly and with low heat generation through soft plastics.
KP-12°
The entire chamfer concentrates on the cutting point of the Dieterle 12° cutting inserts. All polished facets converge to this extremely sharp point, through which soft plastics offer almost no resistance.
SDAC-KP
Highly positive indexable inserts for copy turning - ideal for spherical turning - with 7.5 ° basic shape

KP-VCGT-11

KP-VCGT for SDAC-KP-90
The KP-VCGT indexable inserts have been specially developed for grooving, long turning and copy turning of plastics. Their highly positive and extensively ground geometry with polished rake angle guarantees a very aggressive, yet soft cut. Thanks to their slim geometry, these interchangeable inserts are ideally suited to realizing the finest contours even behind the shoulder.
The KP-VCGT indexable inserts are available in sizes VCGT-0702 .. and VCGT-1303 .. with R0.2 and R0.4. A cutting depth of up to 5.5 mm can be achieved. The right tool holder SDAC-KP-90.. guarantees turning at an angle of 90° to the axis of rotation. The tool holder SDAC-KP-90 is available in the usual shank sizes.

ISO-Indexable Inserts
Our selection of ISO turning inserts tailored for plastic processing for precise copy turning. Efficient solutions through outstanding sharpness.
Depending on the application areas, plastics are reinforced with glass or carbon fibers (GFR/ CFR) to improve mechanical properties. For the machining of these plastics, we recommend our indexable inserts with PCD tooling.
